Megan/Speed: Vickii and I have both agreed that TLOSAS has had it's time, but now it has to come to an end. Vickii would like to have only one blog, and we both think it's time to move on. We have had wonderful memories here, and it will be hard letting go, I'll admit. All good blogs have their time, and there is an ending for everything. Mediocre...
Yep. Today is mediocre. Not good, not bad. . . . . I'm staying home sick. AGAIN. How lovely it is to be lying in bed most of the morning, and feeling terrible all day! (Not XD) How awful. I must be cursed. Or hexed. Meep!
Onto happier news, I guess. I've FINALLY decided to suck up the courage and to download a kit from Summertime Designs called Ring It In. Anyway, here is a freebie background! Enjoy! It's my first one using a kit! Squee! ^^
I also made a header to go with it... unfortunately the header isn't up for grabs. Sorry. :( Here's what it looks like on an actual blog:
Like it? I thought it turned out pretty well myself! (For a beginner at least) ;) I know it's not really Winter themed, but I'm hating Winter right now. Butterflies are much more fun than a -17 degrees celcius temperature and snow squalls. Speaking of which, tonight we're supposed to get 30 cm of snow! I hope we have a snow day tomorrow.

the start of a beginning
Okay. So I'm a bad blogger. So I'm sneaking on here to type up this post which will, I imagine, recieve a comment of question about my break.I love to write. I love to write stories, poems, song lyrics, cupcake recipes, even that dull English assignment most of my classmates have been slacking off on. If it involves pen and paper, I'll do it.
I'm still on my break. I just need to write this down somewhere. Somewhere where I know someone will read it and I won't feel so alone in my thoughts anymore.
*sigh* I do love you guys.
And I'll do it happily.
But when it comes to writing down that very first wordsentenceparagraphpage, when it comes to finding a suitable beginning to tie in with the plot, when it comes to even planning what to write and when to do it, well, that is when I stumble. Icannotwritebeginnings. I admit it now with my hands up, with my hand on my heart, with frustrated tears in my eyes
You see, beginnings come painfully slowly to me. I can never find that right combination of words to make up the beginning. I have no clue how to introduce the plot, or the main characters, or even that little old granny who lives at the corner of Second Street. Which is the reason why I
a) tend to start writing somewhere in the middle, then get confused and delete the document
b) take so long to actually write the novel (nope, I have never, ever finished a novel of any shape, size or form)
c) tend to give up after the first page
Oh, I can write. Not nearly as well as I'd like to, but I can.
❝I was standing in a baby-blue room, with a wide window to the side facing the glistening sea and scudding white clouds, and a tiny wooden frame of a bed tucked neatly in the corner. The glass was slightly propped open, allowing a cool, salty breeze to playfully ruffle my hair and the fringes of my shirt. I had an odd feeling that I was intruding in some way, playing a part in someone else’s life that wasn’t mine to take, but if this was a dream, what control did I have over it? None. But if the room wasn’t a figment of my imagination, then I couldn’t recall how I had gotten here, and why I had been sent here in the first place. The sunlight seemed too soft, too magical to be real, and I felt light, lighter than the air itself; if I raised my arms above my head, would I fly? My head drummed with the endless list of questions I needed to find the answers to.❞
And yet I can't write beginnings. Unfortunately, I never could. Endings and plots come natural to me, but beginnings are where I draw the line.

Sigh... (Rubber ducks and more)
Sigh. :( If you've read the post underneath this, you would be as crushed as I am. I hope you come back soon, •SG•! We'll miss you!
Even though she's leaving for a bit, the show must go on..... I'll be posting more often (hopefully!) to spice things up a bit more.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Some of you profile-hoppers may have already noticed this, but to those of you who haven't, well, here it is: I have deleted My Point of View.
I'm sorry, guys, I truly am, but it's just so hard to read a comment filled out on my form that reads 'you can be mean'. 'Some pictures are just dreadful'. 'You're rude'. 'You're dull'. 'That's boring'.
I'm not blaming anyone here. If you're one of the people who wrote that, I have nothing against you, I swear. That's your honest opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and feelings. That's okay.
But what I am going to do is just take a little break from Blogger. Start up a new photography blog afterwards, maybe. But I have so many other things to do instead. Practise for my midterm exams. Write my novel. Celebrate along with my little brother at his fifth birthday tomorrow. I have a real life, as does everyone with a Blogger account.
So I guess what this leads up to is my very first "goodbye". I love all my Blogger friends, and I won't be gone any longer than a month. Hopefully less. So, well, goodbye.
Good luck.

random musings on a friday afternoon
Friday.
The fifth and final day of the school week.
The day you rush home, flop down onto your sofa, and sigh, "It's finally Friday".
After a long, hard week of tests, test revision, and eight homework assignments, there is nothing more I'm looking forward to than the weekend. Anyone else lovin' Fridays at the mo?
As I type, I'm gazing at a wintery gray-and-yellow streaked sunset framing the skeletal silhouettes of a pair of weathered oak trees. A couple of crows are nestled among their boughs, and I can just make out the tangle of a bird's nest tucked up next to the trunk. It is, as is common in south-west Britain, overcast.
But beautiful nevertheless.

As is typical during winter, it's cold. And dark. And wet. But, my friends, not with snow. No, no, no, Mother Nature does not allow any snow to fall around where I live. Instead, it rains.

Oh, hello, 2011
Wow. Can anybody believe that 2010 is drawing to a close? When the clock strikes twelve, a new year will have begun. And with a new year come new resolutions that will (hopefully - no, definitely) make me a better person.
Now, I rarely ever make New Years' resolutions. Cardboard-stiff sentances beginning with "I solemnly swear to/not to do..." aren't really going to do much difference. You'll be so worked up about not breaking those rules - because they are just like a list of rules - that you will be fretting and fussing all year long. You see why I don't do resultions? And with all that other crap, well, you'll just forget it by March.
No. I do goals. Sentences starting with "to acheive this, I should...". No swearing here. Now, I'm not gonna bore you with all 9 goals I have written down in my notebook, but I am going to tell you here and now that to acheive them, I'm not going to go on Blogger every day. Every three or four days, sure. After all, my Dashboard *is* my homepage. But not every day, no.
So, to all those writing down a list of resolutions, good luck. And to all of you, a very happy, sucessful start, middle and end to your 2011.
Happy New Year, guys. :)

but I can see your eyes
all those twisted lies
your bones right under your skin
you're falling apart
and it's breaking my heart
to watch you struggle...
so just lift your head high
and face the sky
promise me to never let go
don't fade away
stay here today
you're nothing but skin and bones...
Eating disorders ARE a disease, and many teenagers are prone to them by peer pressure. Remember that that girl on TV has been airbrushed and modified so far away from her original body, she may as well be a Photoshop-drawn puppet.

I've Been Dreaming of a White Christmas...
...and that dream came true!
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you have a day filled with love, magic, surprises and joy. And, for some people, snow!
As I type this, a light flurry drifts down from the dove-gray sky and dusts the park and the sidewalk with a fluffy white powder. Against the thick brown tree trunks, you can see that it's sticking. This is the first true white Christmas I've ever seen, where it actually snows on Christmas day. A real snowstorm is coming tomorrow, so I may well present you with a handful of photos on my photography blog, My Point of View...
